Monaco hosted Lorient in a Ligue 1 matchday 18 clash and suffered a 1-3 defeat, equalling an unwanted domestic record.
Details: According to Opta, this was Monaco’s fourth consecutive defeat in Ligue 1. Such a run has not occurred since the autumn of 2018. The club have not endured a streak this poor for nearly eight years.
Monaco lost 1-3 to Lorient, having previously been beaten by Lyon 1-3, Marseille 0-1, and Brest 0-1. The Monegasques currently sit ninth in the table with 23 points after 18 matches. However, their direct rivals still have a game in hand and could push Monaco even further down the standings.
In the next round, Monaco will face Le Havre on Saturday, January 24. Earlier in the week, on January 20, they will travel away to play against Real Madrid.
Reminder: Eric Dier has been offered to West Ham, and the club are currently considering the option. Talks have not progressed at this stage.
