Universidad de Chile are already gearing up for the mid-year transfer window and, as reported by ADN Deportes, the club plans to use all three of its available slots to strengthen the squad. Their focus is on bolstering the midfield, left back, and winger positions ahead of the second half of the 2025 Chilean league season.

The primary need is a central midfielder to back up veteran Marcelo Díaz, whose physical performance has waned in recent months. Though still a key figure, the coaching staff is looking for someone who can bring balance without disrupting the team’s rhythm.

On the left flank, Matías "Tucu" Sepúlveda remains the first choice, but the club is seeking a more reliable backup, as José Castro and Antonio Díaz have failed to impress. Up front, a winger capable of playing on either side would give the attack more versatility and depth.

The club’s leadership recognizes that, while there have been positive stretches, the squad lacks consistency and needs reinforcements to stay competitive in the latter part of the season.

Universidad de Chile’s next match is scheduled for Saturday, June 21 at 3:00 p.m. local time, when they host Deportes Iquique at Estadio Nacional in Matchday 15. That fixture may offer a glimpse of what’s to come in the transfer market.
