Following the departure of Tiago Nunes, Universidad Católica is moving quickly to find a new head coach. While former players Rodrigo Valenzuela, Milovan Mirosevic, and Sebastián Barrientos lead the team on an interim basis, the club is evaluating several experienced candidates.

As reported by Radio Bío Bío and DSports, Uruguayan coach Pablo Repetto has emerged as a frontrunner. Repetto, who previously coached Liga de Quito, Santos Laguna, and Nacional, is available after leaving Atlético Nacional in 2024. Also on the list is Argentine manager Juan Cruz Real, who parted ways with Belgrano last November.

The club’s profile for a new coach is clear: someone with the experience to navigate pressure, restore tactical identity, and reenergize a squad that underperformed in both the domestic league and international competition.

Universidad Católica returns to action on Sunday against Palestino, aiming for a response on the field as leadership decisions loom off it.
