Universal popularity! Racehorse named after Cole Palmer
Chelsea star Cole Palmer, who continues to showcase exceptional footballing prowess, is now enjoying popularity beyond just football fans. A racehorse has recently been named in his honor, reports The Sun.
The four-year-old gelding, Cool Palmer, made his debut in Southwell on Monday, delivering an impressive performance by finishing in 3rd place. It seems Palmer's name carries a truly magical effect!
"Despite signs of inexperience, a pleasing debut from Cool Palmer in third here," wrote the horse's trainer Fergal O’Brien on social media platform X.
Earlier this year, Cole Palmer applied to trademark his iconic “cold” goal celebration to use it for future advertising campaigns. Although the idea for the gesture was not originally his—it was first performed by his former Manchester City academy teammate Morgan Rogers.
This season, Cole Palmer has been in sensational form for Chelsea, scoring 11 goals and providing 6 assists in 18 matches. The London club continues to chase Liverpool in the Premier League title race, trailing the Reds by just 2 points, though Liverpool have a game in hand.
