A showdown between two title contenders awaits us.

Details: According to The Ring, it was revealed today that the WBC has stripped 38-year-old American Terence Crawford of his super-middleweight championship belt.

It is reported that this decision was made after Crawford failed to pay the sanctioning fee.

At the latest WBC Convention, it was also announced that the title is now vacant, and Britain's Hamzah Sheeraz will face France's Christian Mbilli in a bout to determine the new champion.

It was further decided that 30-year-old Guatemalan Lester Martinez would become the mandatory challenger and face the winner of Sheeraz vs Mbilli for the belt.

On September 14, 2025, Terence Crawford defeated Canelo Alvarez by unanimous decision in a fight for the undisputed super-middleweight championship.
