Unexpectedly. Daniel Dubois has disclosed his preferred opponent for his next fight
Interim IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) has shared his plans for the next two years of his boxing career.
"My goals and aspirations? I want to become the world champion. I want a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk," Dubois told TNT Sports Boxing.
Recall that Dubois was defeated by Usyk in August of last year.
On the night of June 1st in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the 5vs5 tournament: Eddie Hearn vs. Frank Warren took place. The main event of the evening was a heavyweight bout (over 90.7 kg) between Deontay Wilder and Zhang Zhilei.
In the co-main event, Daniel Dubois defeated Filip Hrgovic. Throughout the evening, fighters promoted by Frank Warren's Queensberry emerged victorious in all matches.
Dubois started the fight confidently, and despite taking numerous hits, he managed to seize the initiative from his opponent and dominate the bout. The fight lasted until the eighth round when the referee, on the advice of Hrgovic's doctor, stopped the match due to a cut on the Croatian fighter.
