Unexpected turn. Modrić in talks with Milan

With Luka Modrić’s departure from Real Madrid at the end of the season, the Croatian maestro found himself at a crossroads—one that’s suddenly coming into focus.
Details: The 40-year-old midfielder had been firmly set on a move to MLS, a plan his family had been pushing for. However, according to La Repubblica, Milan have made a surprise entrance into the race and have already started negotiations with Modrić.
There’s progress: the Croatian has agreed in principle to sign a one-year contract. There’s a chance it could include an option for a further twelve months. However, full agreement hasn’t been reached yet, with certain details still being ironed out.
The club’s new sporting director, who has already initiated talks for the potential transfer, is expected to be one of the main driving forces behind the move.
Reminder: Earlier, Massimiliano Allegri was officially appointed as Milan’s head coach, returning to the Rossoneri after an 11-year absence.
