Details: According to Guardian Sport, the Merseysiders are exploring a move for Real Madrid’s 23-year-old centre-back Raúl Asencio. The Spaniard has already been told he can leave the club this summer, and intermediaries have put his name forward to Liverpool’s management.

Negotiations could be complicated by the defender’s current fitness. On July 30, Real Madrid announced that Asencio had suffered a muscle injury to the right rectus femoris. The club did not specify a recovery timeline for the centre-back.

It’s worth noting that Raúl Asencio’s contract with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2031. Transfermarkt values the 23-year-old defender at €20 million.
