Intermediaries working on Martial's future contacted a number of English clubs before the transfer window closed to make them aware that the French forward would be open to another spell in the Premier League.
Leeds United, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Newcastle United, Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs that have been approached regarding Martial's availability. However, the approaches do not mean those teams are actively negotiating to sign him, with the player and his representatives continuing to assess several possibilities.
Martial is not restricted by the closure of the summer transfer window because he is currently a free agent. TEAMtalk also reports interest from elsewhere in Europe and Saudi Arabia, meaning the former Manchester United forward has several potential destinations to consider.
It is worth noting that Martial spent nine years at Manchester United after arriving from Monaco in 2015. He made more than 300 appearances for the Red Devils, scored 90 goals and won the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League during his spell at Old Trafford.
