Unexpected: Former Napoli coach Mazzarri could take charge of Iranian club Persepolis
Less than a year ago, Italian manager Walter Mazzarri was in charge of Napoli. While his time in Naples was far from successful, leaving him unemployed for almost a year, a surprising new opportunity has emerged on his horizon.
Details: According to the Tasnim news agency, the 63-year-old coach has been shortlisted by Iranian club Persepolis, which recently parted ways with Spanish manager Juan Carlos Garrido.
Interestingly, Garrido joined Persepolis last summer when Mazzarri was also considered for the role, but the deal fell through at the last moment. The terms of the current potential collaboration have not been disclosed.
Reminder: Napoli was Mazzarri's most recent job, where he managed 17 matches, winning six and losing eight during his brief tenure with the "Partenopei."
