The legendary central defender Jérôme Boateng has officially left Salernitana as a free agent and has already found a new club.
The official website of the Austrian club LASK Linz announced the signing of Boateng with a contract running until the summer of 2026.
For the 2014 World Cup champion, LASK becomes the seventh club of his career. Prior to Salernitana, he played for Hertha, Hamburg, Manchester City, Lyon, and he gained the most fame at Bayern Munich, where he won the Bundesliga nine times.
LASK Linz finished third in the Austrian Bundesliga and will compete in the Europa League qualifiers next season.
Boateng joined Salernitana in February this year, playing only 7 matches in Serie A.
