Barbora Krejcikova stuns the tennis world.

Details: Current Roland Garros champion and fifth seed Mirra Andreeva has made a shock early exit from Wimbledon 2026, bowing out in the second round.

The 19-year-old Russian lost to former tournament champion Barbora Krejcikova in a dramatic three-set battle, falling 6-4, 5-7, 4-6.

Andreeva was viewed as a leading contender for the title following her triumph at the French Open, but Krejcikova’s experience proved decisive. Despite taking the opening set, the Russian couldn’t hold her advantage as the Czech star turned the match around to book her place in the third round.

Andreeva’s defeat stands out as one of the biggest shocks of Wimbledon’s opening week, dramatically shaking up the women’s draw.

In the next round, Krejcikova will face fellow Czech player Nikola Bartunkova.

Reminder: Wimbledon 2023 champion banned for four years! What happened?
