Former France international and Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma is gearing up to embark on a new adventure in his football journey. After becoming a free agent following the termination of his contract with Romanian club CFR Cluj, the experienced centre-back has received an offer from Asia.
Details: According to Santi Aouna, Kurt Zouma is on the verge of joining Chinese side Shandong Taishan. The deal is expected to be a one-year contract with the option to extend for another season. At present, his prospective club sits fifth in the Chinese Super League standings.
For the central defender, who has earned 11 caps for the French national team, this move represents a fresh chapter in his career. Over the years, Zouma has plied his trade in the top flights of France, England, Saudi Arabia, and Romania. Now, a switch to China will add yet another exotic league to his growing résumé.
It is worth noting that he featured in just three matches for his most recent club, CFR Cluj.
Reminder: Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester City are reportedly keen to sign Newcastle’s Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali.
