Unconventional move. Tottenham are considering their current player Ben Davies as an interim manager until the end of the season
London’s Tottenham Hotspur could make a surprising move by handing the reins to Ben Davies. According to journalists Matt Law and Sam Wallace, the club is exploring the option of appointing the 32-year-old Welshman—currently an active player for Spurs—as interim head coach until the end of the current campaign.
Following the resignation of Igor Tudor, Spurs are still searching for the best solution, considering both external candidates and internal options. Appointing Davies as interim boss could be a short-term fix to steady the ship until summer.
For the record, Ben Davies is a seasoned defender and one of Tottenham’s longest-serving players, having been with the club since 2014. The Welshman has made hundreds of appearances for the London side and has built a reputation as a reliable and disciplined performer. Currently, he is recovering from injury, and this season he has featured in five matches, scoring once.
