The Confederation of African Football has still not confirmed that the competition will go ahead, despite Patrice Motsepe's explanations at the last meeting of the organisation's Executive Committee in Dar es Salaam.

Morocco, the host country for the tournament, has reportedly announced that it will not be able to host the African Women's Cup of Nations on the scheduled dates. The country has cited logistical problems and stadium availability, given that an international tournament called ‘Morocco, Capital of African Football’ will also be held in March. In addition, the Moroccan championship is still ongoing.

The Confederation of African Football has reportedly considered South Africa and Algeria as alternatives, but without success. The tournament's kick-off date of 17 March is fast approaching, but no confirmation has been given as to whether the competition will go ahead, which is causing concern.

However, the teams are continuing to prepare for their participation.
