Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh has set a new world record in the high jump at the Diamond League meet in Paris, becoming the first woman to clear 2.10 meters.

Mahuchikh initially cleared 2.03 meters. She then set two consecutive records: first clearing 2.07 meters on her second attempt, and then successfully clearing 2.10 meters on her first attempt, setting a new world record.

The previous high jump record had stood since 1987 when Bulgaria's Stefka Kostadinova cleared 2.09 meters. Mahuchikh is the first in history to surpass the 2.10-meter mark.
