On Friday, URA FC defeated Express FC 2-1 at the Hamz Stadium, their sole victory there with this triumph. Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Enock Walusimbi's goals completed the three-point victory, moving the Tax Collectors up to fifth position in the standings. Express's lone response came from Sam Ssenyonjo, who converted a penalty in the second half.
Walusimbi opened the scoring in the 41st minute, heading in Moses Aliro’s pinpoint corner to silence the home crowd. Early in the second half, Ahimbisibwe capitalized on a defensive error, slotting home URA’s second. Despite Ssenyonjo’s successful penalty in the 61st minute, Express failed to find an equalizer.
The result saw Express drop to third with 19 points, while URA climbed to fifth with 18 points, narrowing the gap to the top four.
In the earlier match, SC Villa continued their poor form, drawing 1-1 with Police FC at Wankulukuku. Villa took the lead in the first half thanks to a penalty kick from Patrick Kakande, but James Brian Obedi handed Police an equalizer late in the game.
The draw extended Villa’s winless run to three matches, dropping them to ninth on 16 points. Police moved up to sixth with 17 points.
URA will try to keep up their pace, while SC Villa and Express need to get back together fast to keep up in the battle for the championship.
