UEFA have allowed Man United, Man City, Girona and Nice to compete in European cups, but with terms UEFA have allowed Man United, Man City, Girona and Nice to compete in European cups, but with terms

The upcoming European Cup campaign promised to be complicated due to some legal aspects of the participating clubs, but it seems that UEFA has resolved all the controversial issues.

As it is known, Champions League participants Manchester City and Girona, as well as Europa League teams Manchester United and Nice, have common owners - City Football Group and INEOS respectively. In such a case, one of the clubs in each pair would be banned from participating in the European Cup, as UEFA rules do not allow two teams of the same owner to play in the same European Cup at the same time.

But according to Sky Sports journalist Rob Harris, the European confederation has allowed Manchester City, Girona, Manchester United and Nice to participate in the European Cup, only with some conditions.

The French club must make significant changes to the club's shareholding distribution to prove that no one has "control or ultimate influence" over the two teams. The next aspect, on the other hand, applies to the entire foursome.

Manchester City - Girona and Manchester United - Nice commit not to transfer between them in any way: permanently or on loan, directly or indirectly, from July 2024 to September 2025, except for pre-existing transfer agreements until the end of the investigation.

It is true that Manchester City and Girona have a trump card up their sleeve here in the form of French Troyes, which, for example, own the contract of Brazilian striker Savio. He is due to move to Manchester City in the summer, and it is not yet known whether the deal falls under the UEFA ban.
