U17 World Cup: Mali qualifies for the Round of 16
The Malian U17 team achieved a major feat this Tuesday, defeating Saudi Arabia 2-0. Following this victory, Mali continues its journey with confidence and brilliance.
Facing Saudi Arabia in their third and final group match, the Junior Eagles emerged victorious, securing their place in the Round of 16 of the U17 World Cup.
After a long period of pressure during the first half, the Malians had to demonstrate patience and discipline to break down the Saudi defense. The score remained 0-0 at halftime, despite several dangerous opportunities for both sides.
In the second half, Mali's dominance became more pronounced. In the 61st minute, Raymond Bomba sealed the victory, capitalizing on the efforts of the entire team. Six minutes later, Ibrahim Diakité doubled the lead and sealed the match.
Mali now has six points, finishing second in Group L behind Austria.
