The Stallions of Burkina Faso secured a 2-0 victory over Tajikistan, guaranteeing their place in the Round of 16 of the U17 World Cup.
Having been dominated in the first half, the Burkinabe returned from the locker room with renewed determination, aiming to take control of the match and secure the qualifying win.
The good news came in the 79th minute when Chérif Badra Barro converted a penalty, opening the scoring.
This goal galvanized the team, who, in the final minutes, managed to seal their victory thanks to Éric Stéphane Ouattara, who scored the second goal in the 90th minute. Burkina Faso thus confirmed their qualification for the Round of 16.
Burkina Faso occupies second place in Group I with a total of 6 points, just behind the United States with 9 points.
