U17 World Cup 2025 : Mali suffers heavy defeat against Austria (0-3)
Mali lost 3-0 to Austria this Saturday, November 8, in the second match of the FIFA U17 World Cup.
Trailing 1-0 at halftime after Moser converted a penalty (35th minute), the Malians saw their hopes dashed after Samba Konaré was sent off in the 57th minute. Reduced to ten men, Adama Djefla Diallo's men crumbled under Austria's clinical finishing.
Moser provided the assist for Deshihsku, who doubled the lead (61st minute). Jozepovic sealed the victory with a third goal in the dying moments of the match. Despite their efforts and valiant determination, the Malians failed to capitalize on their opportunities.
With the situation becoming increasingly difficult for Mali, a crucial victory against Saudi Arabia is now essential if they hope to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
