U17 AFCON: Senegal U17 Edge Ghana U17 1-0 Despite Red Card
Ten-man Senegal U17 claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win over Ghana U17 in a tense African Cup of Nations Group D encounter filled with drama, missed chances, and a decisive second-half goal.
Ghana thought they had taken an early lead in the first half, but the goal was ruled out for a foul in the build-up. The game then swung further when Senegal were reduced to 10 men after El Hadji Sow received a second yellow card before the break. Ghana were handed a golden opportunity to take control from the penalty spot, but Isaac Barfo failed to convert, keeping the match level.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Senegal showed great resilience in the second half and eventually broke the deadlock through Ibrahima Dione, whose strike proved to be the winner.
The result moves Senegal up to third place in Group D, level on points with South Africa and just one point behind Algeria, who sit top with four points.
