U-17 WAFUB: Hakeem Busari Reacts To Burkina Faso’s 2-0 Defeat To Flamingos In WAFU B Clash

Hakeem Busari, head coach of Flamingo, has spoken after Nigeria’s U-17 girls beat Burkina Faso 2-0 at the WAFUB U-17 Girls Cup in Côte d’Ivoire.

The win extended Nigeria’s good start to the tournament as the Flamingos prepared for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco.

Earlier, Busari had urged his players to maintain their focus and discipline, noting that the WAFUB tournament serves as preparation for the World Cup.

“We envisaged this. I said Burkina Faso would sit back, and that's exactly what they did. They stuck to that tactic and looked to hit us on the counter with one or two chances. We had our chances as well, but we couldn't convert them in the first half. That would have changed the course of the game and increased our goal margin.”
