U-17 Africa Cup of Nations: Morocco lodges a complaint against Senegal
Two officials questioned
The Confederation of African Football has launched an investigation.
This marks a new standoff between Senegal and Morocco, whilst the case regarding the final of the Africa Cup of Nations on 18 January 2026 is still before the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Morocco’s complaint concerns the semi-final between Morocco and Senegal during the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, played on 28 May.
Following their defeat by the young Senegalese side, Morocco accused Senegal of making provocative gestures. This led to their complaint to the Confederation of African Football. As a result, Senegalese officials Yaya Baldé and Abdoulaye Sow were interviewed by CAF’s disciplinary body.
An investigation has also been opened into the incidents cited by Morocco.
