Two top EPL clubs tried to sign the Lecce defender in the summer
Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu's performances last season caught the attention of several top European clubs and generated interest in the transfer market during the recently closed window. However, the Danish player was unable to secure a move.
Details: According to Fabrizio Romano, Dorgu was on the shortlist of two prominent Premier League clubs this summer. Tottenham and Chelsea were considering signing the left-back, born in 2004.
However, negotiations did not progress because Lecce wanted more than €30/35 million for the player, a price the clubs were unwilling to meet.
Reminder: Interest in Dorgu was also present among Italian clubs (Juventus and AC Milan). Atlético Madrid sent scouts to Lecce's matches several times, and Liverpool made inquiries about the Danish player.
It was also reported that Chelsea might face difficulties obtaining a license for European competitions for the 2025/2026 season.
