The two-day Formula 1 tire tests in Bahrain have been canceled for safety reasons following missile strikes and a sharp escalation of tensions in the Middle East.

The tests were scheduled to take place at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, with Pirelli set to conduct the sessions. The plan was to artificially wet the track surface to gather crucial data on wet-weather tire compounds.

Pirelli has confirmed that all company personnel and Formula 1 representatives currently in Manama are safe and remain at their hotels. The company is already arranging their return to Italy and the United Kingdom.

Despite the cancellation of the tests, the championship calendar remains unchanged for now. The Bahrain Grand Prix is still set for April 12, with the Saudi Arabian round scheduled for a week later. Formula 1 is closely monitoring the situation and working on contingency plans.
