Football simply isn't possible in these conditions.

Details: Earlier today, the EFL authorities announced the postponement of two League Two matches due to the extremely challenging weather brought on by Storm Chandra.

The fixtures between Cheltenham Town and Gillingham, as well as Barrow versus Oldham, which were both set to take place tonight as part of League Two's 29th round, have been officially postponed due to adverse weather. Match officials have been inspecting stadium conditions and the state of the pitches since early morning, but as the day progressed, it became clear that there would be no improvement. As a result, the decision was made to reschedule both games.

"A pitch inspection took place at 9:30am following prolonged heavy rainfall overnight and throughout the morning in the area.

EFL-appointed officials assessed the pitch at the EV Charger Points Stadium and decided to postpone the match, as there is no prospect of the conditions improving by this evening." That’s the final verdict from the federation.

New dates and kick-off times for the matches will be announced in due course.

Reminder: Problems. The start of the Europa League match between Utrecht and Genk has been delayed
