Two debutants. The UEFA Youth League finalists have been decided

Today, the spectators saw the semifinal matches of the UEFA Youth League for the 2023/24 season.

In the first semifinal, Greek Olympiacos defeated Nantes. The teams played to a 0-0 draw in regular time, and in the penalty shootout, the French team missed three out of four shots, while Olympiacos made only one mistake.

In the second semifinal, Porto came close to beating Milan with a score of 2-1, but the Rossoneri equalized in the final seconds thanks to a goal by Danish forward Alexander Simmelhack. In the penalty shootout, the Italian team emerged victorious with a score of 5-2.

Neither Olympiacos nor Milan had previously reached the final of the UEFA Youth League.

Just to remind, the UEFA Youth League is the equivalent of the Champions League for teams in the U-19 age category. It features youth teams of clubs participating in the main Champions League, as well as teams that have won youth championships in their countries.

Last season, AZ Alkmaar's youth team won the UEFA Youth League, defeating Hajduk in the final.
