In another MLS regular season match, Inter Miami traveled to face Chicago Fire and, with a victory, could have climbed to second place in the standings.

However, despite controlling possession throughout the match and creating several dangerous opportunities, Gerardo Martino's squad failed to find the back of the net. Chicago also posed a threat, but neither team managed to score.

Lionel Messi had two brilliant chances from free kicks. On both occasions, the Argentine hit the crossbar.

As a result, Inter Miami earns one point and occupies fourth place in the MLS standings. The team has 15 points after seven rounds, trailing the first place by three points. In just a few days, on April 19, Miami will travel to face Columbus Crew.

Reminder: Messi is close to extending his contract with Inter. Negotiations are at an advanced stage, and the 37-year-old is expected to sign a new deal.
