Uruguayan striker Darwin Núñez is on the verge of leaving Al-Hilal less than a year after joining the Saudi club. According to The Mirror, both parties have already reached an agreement to terminate his contract at the end of the season.

Reports suggest that once he departs, the forward could become a free agent—a status that Premier League clubs are eager to exploit. Newcastle and Chelsea are among the clubs showing significant interest in Núñez, closely monitoring how the situation unfolds.

Núñez's early days at Al-Hilal looked promising, but things changed dramatically following Karim Benzema’s arrival in the winter transfer window. Due to squad restrictions on the number of foreign players, the Uruguayan was left out of the lineup and hasn’t featured since February.

According to Pro League regulations, clubs can only register eight foreign players born before 2003. This rule became one of the key reasons for Núñez’s imminent departure from Al-Hilal.
