Two Brighton supporters have been admitted to the hospital after sustaining stab wounds in Rome. The English fans arrived for the 1/8 finals match of the Europa League against the local team, Roma.

It's reported that the Seagulls' enthusiasts fell victim to a robbery. On Thursday morning, in the vicinity of the Colosseum, a gang of armed robbers wearing masks attacked the Englishmen and inflicted knife wounds to their legs. The victims were robbed of their wallets and documents. The police have launched an investigation into the incident on an urgent basis.

Brighton will play in the European cup playoffs for the first time in their history. The Seagulls advanced directly to the 1/8 finals after winning their group. Meanwhile, Roma progressed through the round of 16.

The first leg will take place on March 7th in Rome, kicking off at 18:45 Central European Time. The return leg is scheduled for a week later, on March 14th.
