Turkish tennis player Altug Celikbilek was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor after collapsing on the court. Following his collapse, he underwent surgery and was transported to a hospital in Turkey. His girlfriend, fellow tennis player Elissa Vanlangendonck, shared the news on Instagram.

Fortunately, the tumor was found to be benign, and Celikbilek successfully underwent surgery.

"I believe and we all believe that you are gonna wake up and be the crazy, funny, annoying, active, caring& loving kid you’ve always been. It’s breaking my heart not to be able to be with you and hold your hand, lay in your arms and comfort you," wrote Elissa in an emotional post.

Celikbilek initially suffered a cerebral hemorrhage during a tournament in Monastir, Tunisia. He was transferred to Turkey after his first operation, where further examinations confirmed the presence of the tumor.

Currently ranked in the 500s in the ATP rankings, Celikbilek reached his career-high of 154th place in 2022. Fans and the tennis community continue to send their support during his recovery.
