Turkish Federation Accepts Fenerbahçe's Appeal in Mourinho Case. What's Next for the Coach?
The racist scandal involving Fenerbahçe's head coach José Mourinho prompted a harsh punishment from the Turkish federation. However, they have accepted the "Canaries'" appeal and altered their decision.
Details: The press service of the Istanbul club announced that Mourinho's punishment has been reduced. The Portuguese coach will pay a fine of 558,000 Turkish Lira (£12,200) instead of 1.6 million Lira (£35,000).
Mourinho's suspension has also been shortened. The initial decision was a four-match ban, but following the appeal, it has been reduced to two matches. He has already served one game of his suspension during the cup match against Gaziantepspor.
Therefore, the Portuguese will only watch his players' actions from the stands in today's match against Antalyaspor.
Reminder: It was previously reported that Mourinho filed a lawsuit against Galatasaray due to the racist scandal.
