In an effort to discover new talent across different weight divisions, the WBC has unveiled plans for a new tournament, announced by the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh.

Details: Riyadh Season and WBC will host the WBC Grand Prix, featuring 128 boxers across four weight categories: featherweight, junior welterweight, middleweight, and heavyweight.

Participation will be restricted to boxers under the age of 26 with no more than 10 professional bouts on their records.

The tournament aims to identify future global stars in boxing, as stated by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman and Turki Al-Sheikh.

The competition is set to begin in February 2025, with quarterfinals and semifinals consisting of eight rounds, while the finals will feature ten rounds.
