Tuchel makes decision on calling up Manchester City players to the England squad in case of sanctions!
England head coach Thomas Tuchel has made an important statement regarding the future of Manchester City players in the national team.
Details: Speaking to ESPN, the German coach said he would be prepared to consider players even if the club were forced to leave the top flight and spend next season in the lower divisions.
Commenting on the difficult situation surrounding potential disciplinary sanctions and the threat of relegation for the Manchester club, Tuchel stressed that sporting merit and the players’ current form would always come first for him.
The England coach noted that he would assess each case individually, selecting the strongest performers for specific tasks, training camps and international tournaments, regardless of the level of competition in which their club plays.
"I think I will always try to pick the best team for the camp, for the occasion, for the tournament and I will never rule out that they don't play in the top flight in their country. So, you need to look at this case-by-case."
