Trust for years to come! Official: Spain announce contract extension with head coach

Spain are tying their future to the man who has masterminded the national team's remarkable success.

Details: The Board of Directors of the Royal Spanish Football Federation has unanimously approved a contract extension for Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente. The new long-term deal runs through 2032, underlining the federation's complete confidence in the 65-year-old coach.

The new contract covers six years and includes leading the team at two European Championships — in 2028 and 2032 — as well as the 2030 World Cup on home soil, which will be hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco. The coach and federation president Rafael Lousan are expected to hold an official joint presentation of the new agreement soon.

It is worth noting that Luis de la Fuente took charge of the national team in December 2022. Under his leadership, Spain have achieved outstanding results, winning the 2023 UEFA Nations League, the 2024 European Championship and, in triumphant fashion, the 2026 World Cup.
