Trump's order? 5 Iraq national team players denied US visas ahead of World Cup

Details: According to NTV Iraq, as many as five players from the Iraq national team have been denied visas to participate in the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Iraq's matches were set to take place in the US, but now that plan is in jeopardy unless the visa situation is resolved. Reports indicate that among those denied entry is 24-year-old striker Ali Al-Hamadi, who plays for England's Luton Town.

Previously, US President Donald Trump had stated that representatives from certain participating countries might face difficulties obtaining US visas ahead of the World Cup.

At the Mundial, Iraq landed in Group I alongside France, Norway, and Senegal.
