Transfer News - Al-Ahli: Talks underway to extend Edouard Mendy's contract
The Senegalese international, Edouard Mendy, Al-Ahli's goalkeeper, could see his contract extended with his club.
With one year remaining on his contract, until June 2026, according to the Saudi press, the club has begun discussions with the player's agent in recent days regarding a renewal. The management reportedly consulted the Senegalese goalkeeper directly to gauge his desire to continue his adventure in Jeddah.
Mendy, for his part, who joined Al-Ahli in the summer of 2023, has expressed his agreement to renew his contract with the club, seeing no current obstacles. According to the Saudi sports daily Al-Riyadiya, negotiations should accelerate after the international break, a period during which the former Chelsea goalkeeper is away with the Senegalese national team.
However, the club plans to finalize the agreement and respond to any requests from Édouard Mendy in the coming days.
