Last night, Inter Miami, featuring legendary forward Lionel Messi, played its opening match of the new MLS season. In a home fixture against New York City, the team of the Argentine great settled for a 2-2 draw, though Messi himself had little reason for disappointment.
Leo provided two assists in the game: in the 5th minute, he set up Tomás Avilés for the opener, and deep into stoppage time (90+10), his pass led to a goal by Telasco Segovia.
As usual, Inter Miami's matches attracted high-profile guests. Among those in attendance was renowned French midfielder Paul Pogba.
At the moment, Pogba is without a club. The experienced Frenchman last played in September 2023 before being suspended for doping.
Recently, speculation has been swirling about potential destinations for Pogba once his suspension is lifted. One possible landing spot? Inter Miami.
