Transfer coming soon. The Brentford and England striker was not included in the team's squad

Today, the next round of matches in the Premier League's opening weekend will take place, with Brentford and Crystal Palace stepping onto the field.

However, the Bees may face a tough challenge as they will be without their forward, Ivan Toney, who has been left out of the squad.

The absence of Toney has led to speculation, with the likely reason being the significant interest in the player from various clubs, particularly from Saudi Arabia. This was confirmed by Brentford's head coach, Thomas Frank:

"A lot is happening with Ivan, especially in terms of transfers. There's considerable interest in him.

Due to all this, we've decided not to include him in the squad. I can't divulge too much information.

Of course, Ivan is a top-class player, and he's performed excellently for us over the past four years, but last season we showed that we can manage without him," Frank told Sky Sports.

According to GiveMeSport, the most likely destination for Toney is Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli, who have been in contact with Brentford. It is known that the English club is seeking at least €20 million for the player. While it remains unclear if the Middle Eastern club is willing to meet this valuation, reports suggest they are ready to satisfy Toney's wage demands.
