Transfer bombshell! Real Madrid want Liverpool leader
José Mourinho has identified another major target for Real Madrid's midfield rebuild.
Details: According to Sky Sport Germany, Real Madrid are seriously interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. The 27-year-old Argentine is high on the Spanish club's shortlist as Madrid plan potential changes in the centre of the pitch.
The report adds that Mourinho is one of the main supporters of a possible deal. The Portuguese coach particularly appreciates Mac Allister's physical presence, intensity in challenges and ability to work without the ball.
Real Madrid are already working on their squad planning for the coming transfer windows and see the Liverpool midfielder as a player capable of taking on an important role in the centre of the pitch.
However, a transfer would not be straightforward. Mac Allister remains under contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2028, giving the English club a strong negotiating position. Sky Sport Germany also reports that there are currently no concrete plans at Anfield for an early extension of his existing deal.
It is worth noting that Mac Allister has already made 162 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 23 goals and providing 21 assists. The Argentine joined the Merseyside club from Brighton in 2023.
