Tragic bus crash involving a Senegalese football club

The tragedy claimed the life of the club's goalkeeper, and several players were injured.

Senegalese football has been in shock since Sunday 29 March 2026. A road accident has plunged Gadiaga FC and the entire country into turmoil. The club was returning to Bakel after a National 2 championship play-off match against TP Diamono of Kaolack. But on the way, the coach carrying the players was involved in an accident.

The tragedy occurred on Sunday 29 March near Boynguel, according to the Senegalese Professional Football League. The bus carrying the club’s delegation reportedly collided with a lorry parked on the road, according to local media. The toll includes one fatality, notably the club’s goalkeeper and at least 20 injured players.
