Following the death of 29-year-old defender Mohamed Shokry of the Kafr El Sheikh club from a heart attack during a game against Al Qazzazin Youth Center in the Egyptian Second Division, Egyptian football is in mourning.

When Shokry passed out during the game, the medical staff hurried to try to save him. After that, he was taken to Damietta's Al Zarqa Central Hospital and placed on a ventilator. Regretfully, his death was declared early this morning despite every effort to save him.

Before joining Kafr El Sheikh, Shokry, who was from El Mahalla El Kubra, played soccer for Sporting Castle and Desouk SC. He began his career at Ghazl El Mahalla. His passing leaves a big gap in Egyptian soccer, as he was famous for his passion and hard work on the field.

His hometown will hold his funeral, where fans, family, and friends will gather to honor him. The memory of Mohamed Shokry will stay with us, reminding us of how short life can be in the world of sports.
