Tragedy strikes: 22-year-old futsal player Carol Oliveira dies after falling from a height
Brazilian futsal player Carol Oliveira has tragically passed away after falling from the roof of a 25-story building, The Sun reports. According to media sources, Oliveira was distracted while taking selfies on her phone, losing her balance and falling from the rooftop.
The heartbreaking incident occurred on Sunday. Emergency responders arrived on the scene but could only confirm Oliveira's death from the severe impact of the fall. A truly devastating loss.
It was also reported that shortly before the accident, Oliveira had been recording videos with her brother.
The young athlete played for the Brazilian futsal team Centro de Tijucas and was a passionate supporter of the football club Corinthians, often posting pictures in the team’s jersey on her social media accounts.
To help the grieving family cover funeral expenses, Oliveira's former coach, Angelica Solidade, organized a fundraising campaign.
“Everyone liked her. You never heard a person say 'Carol is boring' or 'I don't like her'” Solidade said, paying tribute to her former player.
