Details: The Venezuelan Football Federation has officially confirmed the death of 18-year-old youth national team forward Yimvert Berroterán. The young athlete became a victim of two powerful earthquakes that struck the South American nation.
According to reports, rescue teams searched for the footballer for 24 hours before finally discovering his body beneath the rubble of a collapsed building. The disaster has already claimed more than 900 lives in just two days.
Yimvert Berroterán was considered one of the most promising talents in his country. He played for Universidad Central, with whom he became Venezuelan champion for the first time last December and also lifted the nation’s top cup.
That same month, the dynamic forward represented his national team at the U-17 World Cup in Qatar, where he helped his side reach the round of 32.
