Macclesfield forward and former Wolverhampton player Ethan McLeod has tragically passed away at the age of 21.

Details: The Wolverhampton football club released an official statement following the heartbreaking death of striker Ethan McLeod, who lost his life at just 21 years old. The footballer was involved in a fatal car accident on Tuesday evening while returning from Macclesfield's away match against Bedford Town. The injuries sustained proved to be fatal.

Ethan joined the Wolverhampton academy at the age of seven and rose through the ranks to sign a professional contract. In September 2024, he left the club to continue his career at Macclesfield.

It's worth noting that Ethan's younger brother, Conor McLeod, currently plays for Wolverhampton's U-21 side.

In memory of Ethan McLeod, a minute's silence will be observed before Wolverhampton's Premier League match against Brentford on Saturday in matchweek 17.
