A terrifying incident unfolded in the town of Zafferana Etnea during a women's volleyball match between Zafferana Volley and Volley '96 Milazzo. The cause of the incident was a carbon monoxide leak from the heating system in the city sports complex.

Details: According to Tuttosport, 15 players were hospitalized. Eight of them required hyperbaric oxygen therapy due to high levels of carbon monoxide in their lungs, while another seven received oxygen therapy in the emergency department. Other affected individuals sought medical attention at the university clinic. All athletes were eventually discharged and sent home.

The heating system was confiscated by firefighters for inspection, and the prosecutor's office has launched an investigation under the article on negligent bodily harm. It remains to be determined why the equipment was operating, despite preliminary reports indicating it had not yet undergone full testing.

On social media, the team reported that all players are now at home and out of danger, though some are still in shock.
