Tragedy... 18-year-old Brazilian footballer shot dead by his own brother

Details: Today, the official page of Aragoiania FC announced that 18-year-old team player Vanderson Brandão de Souza has died after being shot in the neck with a rifle.
According to media reports, the shot was accidental: his 16-year-old younger brother was cleaning the rifle and, due to negligence, pulled the trigger, hitting Vanderson Brandão in the neck.
The club has already offered its heartfelt condolences to the family, noting that the deceased was a very promising player. All club activities have been suspended as mourning days were declared.
Police have confiscated the weapon from the shooter, but are treating the case as an accident, ruling out intentional homicide. It is still unknown who the weapon was officially registered to.
