Tottenham match club’s worst record in Premier League

On Friday, May 16, Aston Villa hosted Tottenham as part of Premier League Matchday 37. The Birmingham side claimed victory over the Spurs, and this defeat marked an unwanted record for the visitors.
Details: According to Opta, this was Tottenham’s 25th defeat in the current Premier League season. With this result, the team matched their club record for most losses in a single campaign, first set back in 1991/92. That season, Tottenham finished 14th, but the league featured more matches—42 instead of the current 38.
Right now, Spurs sit 17th in the table with 38 points after 37 rounds. Tottenham’s next fixture will be on Wednesday, May 21, against Manchester United in the Europa League final.
Reminder: Spurs winger Dejan Kulusevski underwent surgery on his right knee and has started his rehabilitation program. The Swedish international’s season is officially over.
