Tottenham has terminated the contract with the most expensive acquisition in the club's history
Tottenham has officially terminated the contract with midfielder Tanguy Ndombele. The club wished the player success in his future football career.
In 2019, Spurs acquired Ndombele's contract from Lyon for €65 million, marking the London club's record purchase.
However, the midfielder failed to meet expectations. He has not played for Spurs since January 2022, when he first returned to Lyon on loan, followed by a year-long spell at Napoli and Galatasaray.
During his time in England, he appeared in 91 matches, scoring ten goals, but fell out of favor with the then coaches.
The last time fans saw Ndombele on the pitch in a Tottenham shirt was in January 2022, when he started in the FA Cup match against Morkem.
During the 2023/2024 season, Ndombele was loaned to Galatasaray in Turkey, where he provided one assist in 26 matches across all competitions.
